The City of Calgary (The City) is seeking proposals for a real-time, software-based solution to optimize the energy efficiency of its potable water pumping network.
Proponents may submit solutions that are Cloud/SAAS (Software as a Solution, On-Premise, or a combination of both, i.e. Hybrid).
Proposals should clearly identify which option is being proposed on the cover of the proposal.
If a Proponent elects to propose more than one (1) solution option, each option must be submitted as separate proposals
.
The proposed solution will consider relevant data, then determine and advise operators of the most energy efficient pumping strategy to deliver drinking water to over 1.2 million residents in Calgary, as well as industrial, commercial, institutional and regional customers in the Calgary area.
The Proponent should have:
- Knowledge of municipal water treatment and distribution.
- Successfully implemented this type of software within a similar environment (e.g., municipal water treatment system).
- The ability (dedicated personnel with the appropriate expertise) to support The City throughout the implementation to assure successful adoption of the system.
The budget is $400,000 for implementation of the preferred solution.
The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to two (2) years. After the initial term, The City will have an option to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for four (4) additional two (2) year terms for a potential total term of ten (10) years.
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
