The City of Calgary (“The City”) is seeking a mattress recycling processor to collect, transport and process residential mattresses collected at The City’s Waste Management Facility as part of this project.
The Supplier will provide all staff and equipment need to provide loading, collection, transportation and processing of residential mattresses collected at The City’s Waste Management Facility locations designated to this project
The Supplier will provide sufficient collection and processing capacity to ensure uninterrupted collection and processing services for mattresses collected at City Waste Management Facilties.
The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to three (3) month Proof of Concept (POC) in 2021 at the Spyhill and Shepard WMF’s and may be extended for one (1) additonal three (3) month POC at Spyhill and Shepard WMF’s with option of adding East Calgary WMF. If the POC is successful the agreement may renewed for two (2) additional terms of two (2) years.
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
