The City of Calgary (The City) is seeking a qualified Supplier for the preventative maintenance and potential component replacement and/or repair for cranes, hoists, and lifting devices at The City’s existing wastewater and stormwater lift stations, as well as the ability to coordinate testing, inspection, and certification of the same, as per both code requirements, and/or Manufacturer’s recommendations.
The City owns, operates, and maintains thirty-three (33) stormwater lift stations, thirty-nine (39) wastewater lift stations, and three (3) emergency lift stations, all of which are considered to be critical infrastructure.
Each station may have several lifting device systems including cranes, hoists (both electric and manual), monorails (with associated trolleys), davits or tripods (for both fall arrest and confined space entry), and self-retracting lifelines (SRL).
The City of Calgary has included three (3) Schedules, one for wastewater, one for stormwater, and one for emergency lift stations. Each Schedule has sub-schedules detailing site-specific conditions/constraints and lifting devices at each lift station.

The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to one (1) years. After the initial term, The City will have an option to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for five (5) additional one (1) year terms for a potential total term of six (6) years.
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
