This invitation to quote opportunity is to extend to outside/external parties the purchase of surplus asphalt millings that The City of Calgry is able to offer for sale. Bidders are to quote two (2) unit prices per tonne to be paid to The CIty - one for contractor transporting materials, other for The City transporting materials to contractor).
Multiple Award Intention:
The City intends to select more than one (1) contractor. Priority with first right of refusal will be given to the lowest quote received, and then to each next lowest bidder subsequently thereafter.
Background:
The City of Calgary genearates an average of 69,000 metric tonnes of asphalt millings annually through its road construction operations, retaining the millings for various uses. Not all asphalt millings are used by The City, and this opportunity can be extended to outside parties to purchase surplus millings that The City is able to offer for sale.
Immediate availability for pickup is estimated to be 50,000 to 60,000 metric tonnes.
Within this process after closing and evaluation of the bids, The City’s Roads business unit will contact the successful respondents with each opportunity as product becomes available. The respondents will then be able to purchase of the asphalt millings based on a price per tonne resulting from the submitted on the quote competition.

- 11808 69 Street NW
- Other additional Calgary locations may be added, as required.
